This term is coined for the cold southern winds that blow upon our maunga. It identifies the winter season, more so, snow is falling to the south. It’s a seasonal marker, a sign of change, carrying with it the chill of winter and a reminder that all seasons come to an end.
This design is a reference to the value of seasonal markers that indicate change in our lives.

Te Haukaikōura,  a beautiful ode to the pioneer era, comes together in Jacquard weave structure. Made using 100% New Zealand Lambswool, 42 threads per square cm and 5 different weave structures it features a  delicate salt n pepper lash fringe edging.   It has gone through a scouring process and has a washed finish.  Light in weight but not warmth it has a  reversible pattern for twice the decorative potential. The 4 yarn colours used are rice, golden sands, woodchip and coal.

Wool blankets are among the most durable and desirable of all blankets. They're soft and warm, and are very difficult to stain or damage. Wool blankets are also very easy to care for and you don’t need to wash them often, in fact, it’s best to wash them sparingly and some guidelines recommend washing wool blankets once every three months.

Check out our product care page for further information on how to care for your blanket.
