A return to balance, a restoration of harmony, an adornment of peace, Te Whare o Rongo is not just another collection. It is a whare we can carry with us - to wrap around our shoulders, to drape across our homes, to remind us that when we are weary, peace is always waiting.

He kokonga ngākau

Every whare has hidden corners. Places where the light does not always reach, where dust gathers unnoticed. So too does the heart.

The proverb he kokonga whare e kitea, he kokonga ngākau e kore e kitea reminds us that while we can see into the physical corners of a house, the true chambers of the heart remain concealed.

This blanket is a call inward - to sit quietly with ourselves, to acknowledge both shadow and light. Peace begins here, in honesty, reflection and compassion. It asks us to tend to our unseen corners, to forgive, to soften and to make space for grace.

He kokonga ngākau is a reminder that the interior landscape is as sacred as the exterior world. That peace, nurtured within, will ripple outward.

Tahua-roa

Peace is not always silent. Sometimes it is found in the hum of voices around a shared table, in the laughter of tamariki, in the offering of food passed hand to hand.

Tahua-roa speaks to the daily practice of manaaki - to host, to uplift, to nourish. It is a reminder that peace is sustained not only through stillness, but through generous acts of care extended to others.

In the wharenui, the long table welcomes many. Here, difference dissolves and common ground is found over bread, stories and time.

This blanket carries the spirit of gathering. Of making space for all, of listening as much as speaking, of weaving unity through the simple ritual of being together.

Ōrongonui

Time is a circle. The tides return, the moon waxes and wanes, the seasons fold into each other. Peace, too, is cyclical - nurtured, lost, renewed.

Ōrongonui speaks to the expansive peace gifted by Rongo - atua of agriculture, fertility and reconciliation. His rhythms guide the harvest, the moon and the wellbeing of the people.

This blanket honours those natural cycles. It asks us to live in step with them, to notice ups and downs within ourselves. To understand that peace is not static but ever-returning, like the ocean’s breath.
